iaptus is able to generate data extracts suitable to import into your own data servers.
This guide will take you through the steps you need to undertake before the data can be extracted from iaptus and added to your own system.
Solution Summary
Security for the data transfer is provided by TSL/SSL. The Server has a certificate issued by an authority in the Microsoft Trusted CA program. The client is authenticated by a certificate issued by Mayden. The Mayden CA certificate and client certificate must be installed on the computer receiving the data from Mayden as an import process.
Mayden supply the following certificates.
| Certificates – If you have made your own certificate request on Windows 2008 or above, this will be a *.crt file – If Mayden have provided a composite key & certificate file for Windows 2003 server, this will be a *.p12 file |
Requirements
If you are using a non-Windows operating system, please refer to your OS Supplier to find out how to install the certificates provided. Mayden only accepts certificates from systems running the most recent version of the TSL/SSL protocols.
Certificates are required to be renewed every 2 years. This is to ensure there are no disruptions to your service. We recommend that you put a reminder in place a month prior to its expiry date to create a new certificate. This will then be sent via a support log to be processed. On receipt of the processed certificate you will be required to reinstall it.
Creating Certificate Requests
Windows Server 2003
- If you are using Windows 2003 server, please contact Mayden (01249 701100) who will create the request on your behalf and at the point of adding the certificate will remotely access your system to add a password protected composite key
- Once your connection is successful, Mayden will destroy any copies of your key
- It is vital that this composite key and password combination is strongly protected since it could be used to impersonate your authentication and access the export data
